AVG free antivirus rom free.avg.com (install without daily scan)
SPYBOT Search and Destroy from download.com

Maintenance: Do once a week, overnight (or once a month)
Spybot - scan (in safemode* is best ) then delete everything it finds
AVG - scan (in safemode* is best - boot hitting F8) then delete everything it finds
reboot
Defrag - will take longest, but will improve speed the most.

turn OFF computer
turn ON computer hitting the F8 key repeatedly, when prompted: select SAFE MODE and continue

Cleaning need twice a year:
turn OFF computer
OPEN your computer and use compressed air to blow out ALL the dust. (best to do outside)
Vaccuums are useless here, so forget that.
